What's going on with your Apple?

You don't need to know
what's wrong. We will.

Most people call us not quite sure what the problem is — just that something isn't working the way it should. That's fine. Describe what's happening and we'll work it out from there. No charge for a first conversation.

Very common
My Mac is getting slow and I don't know why
Could be storage full, could be a dying drive, could be software — or it could be that your Mac simply needs a clean-up. We diagnose first, fix second. No guessing, no unnecessary work.
Most asked
I just bought a new Mac. How do I get everything off my old one?
There's no Apple Store between here and Parramatta. We do Mac-to-Mac migrations properly — files, apps, settings, email, everything — usually in a single visit. You sit down at your new Mac and it's all there.
iCloud
"Apple just want more money. I hate the cloud."
We hear this a lot. Usually by the time we've sorted the resulting mess, the bill is more than iCloud would have cost for three years. We'll show you exactly what it does, why it matters, and what $4 a month actually buys you.
Photos
My photos are completely out of control
Duplicates everywhere. Some on the phone, some on the Mac, some in old iPhoto libraries, some nowhere you can find. We untangle this properly — one library, everything in the right place, iCloud working as it should.
Family
Our messages and photos are getting mixed up between devices
Classic shared Apple ID problem — husband and wife sharing one account, or a parent's phone merging with the kids'. We sort out Apple IDs, Family Sharing, and what belongs where without losing anything.
Training
I want to actually learn how to use my Mac properly
One-on-one at your pace, at your place. We don't follow a fixed curriculum — we work on what you actually want to do. Filing, email, photos, Pages, Numbers, iPhone, whatever it is. No rushing, no jargon.
Filing
My files are everywhere and I can never find anything
Downloads folder with 4,000 items in it. Documents saved on the Desktop. Things in three different cloud services. We set up a filing system that makes sense for how you actually work — and then show you how to maintain it.
Honest answer
Do I have a virus?
Almost certainly not. Macs get malware but genuine viruses are extremely rare. What you're probably seeing is a browser extension that's misbehaving, a dodgy website that's opened a scary-looking popup, or software that's doing something unexpected. Call us and we'll tell you in five minutes.

Mac Repairs

Honest about
what's worth fixing.

We'll always tell you the truth about whether a repair makes financial sense. Sometimes it does. Sometimes a refurbished replacement is a far better use of your money. We'd rather tell you that upfront than take your money for a job that wasn't worth doing.

✓ Worth doing

MacBook Battery Replacement

Not lasting the day? Battery replacement is usually well worth it on MacBooks under 8 years old. Good quality cells at a sensible price, most jobs turned around same week.

✓ Worth doing

SSD Upgrades (older Intel Macs)

On older Intel Macs with upgradeable storage, an SSD upgrade can make a machine feel new again. We fit, format and migrate in one visit. Note: M-series Macs have no upgradeable storage.

✓ OpenCore Patcher

Keep Older Macs Running

Apple drops support for perfectly capable Macs too early. OpenCore Patcher lets us install current macOS on older machines — often getting 3–5 more years out of them. Few people do this reliably. We do.

Honest answer

Broken Mac Screens

Screen repairs on Macs typically cost $1,000+ once you factor parts, labour and GST. Often a quality refurbished Mac is the smarter call. But if your Mac is recent and the repair genuinely stacks up, we recommend MacFixIt — they do mail-in repairs and don't charge for labour, which makes the numbers work considerably better. We'll give you an honest steer before you spend anything.

We don't do these

iPhone, iPad & Apple Watch Repairs

We focus on Macs. We don't repair iPhones, iPads or Apple Watches — not because we can't, but because it's not where our expertise lies and we'd rather not do it poorly.

We don't do these

Logic Board & Windows Repairs

Component-level Mac hardware repair and Windows computers are outside our scope. We're Apple specialists, not generalists — and that's deliberate.

Apple Home & AV

When your Apple Home
actually works.

Apple TV buffering. HomePod dropping off. AirPlay refusing to find the speakers. Nine times out of ten the problem isn't the Apple device — it's the network underneath. That's where PureMac and Bowral WiFi work together in a way nobody else locally can match.

  • Network first. Bowral WiFi configures UniFi with correct mDNS and Bonjour — the protocols Apple TV, AirDrop, HomePod and AirPlay all rely on. Most routers break this. UniFi doesn't.
  • Apple second. PureMac sets up your Apple TV, HomePod, Sonos and Apple Home properly — accounts, zones, scenes, automations — by someone who lives in this ecosystem daily.
  • One call. Same company, same person. You don't need to coordinate two separate tradies who don't understand each other's work.

Mac in Business

Business systems built
for Mac people.

Most local IT support can fix what's broken. We can connect your systems so they work together — your website, your CRM, your accounting software, your calendar — automatically, without you having to touch any of it. That's a different conversation entirely.

Apple Business Manager

Device enrolment, app deployment, and team management done properly. Mac, iPhone and iPad in a small business context — set up the right way from the start.

  • Device enrolment and MDM
  • App deployment across the team
  • iCloud for business vs personal separation
  • Microsoft 365 on Mac — configured correctly

Mac Setup & Support

For small professional services businesses in the Highlands — law firms, medical practices, real estate, accountants — who want someone who actually understands Mac in a business context.

  • New Mac deployment for teams
  • Email and calendar setup
  • Backup strategy — local and cloud
  • Ongoing support for Mac-based teams

Integration & AI

AI makes integrations
accessible. Knowing what to build still matters.

AI tools like Claude have dramatically lowered the technical barrier to building custom business integrations. What used to require a developer can now be built in a conversation — if you know exactly what to ask for.

That's the part that's hard. You need to understand the data model, the business process, the edge cases, and what the integration should not do as much as what it should. That's where 30 years of Apple business consulting experience matters more than ever.

A real example from this week: We integrated the Bowral WiFi enquiry form with Daylite — automatically creating a contact (checking for duplicates first), logging a note for each submission to maintain history, opening an opportunity, and assigning an actionable task. Built with Claude, directed by experience. A developer would have charged thousands. We did it in an afternoon.

What we can connect

UniFi NAS — local storage for Mac teams

For businesses that don't want everything in the cloud, a UniFi NAS gives you local network storage and Time Machine backup — fast, private, no monthly fees. Bowral WiFi installs the network. PureMac configures it for your Macs.

  • Time Machine backup over the network for every Mac
  • Shared file storage for the whole team
  • Camera footage storage with UniFi Protect
  • No cloud dependency for sensitive business files
  • Works seamlessly with macOS — no Windows server needed

Daylite for Mac

The business system
built for Mac people.

Daylite is a CRM, project manager, and custom workflow system built natively for Mac and iPhone. Powerful, flexible, and often cheaper than the SaaS alternatives — even when you factor in buying new Macs. We've been implementing Daylite for over 15 years and are one of the most experienced consultants in Australia.

Case study · Care coordination

Keeping an elderly parent's care team organised

A family managing care staff for an elderly parent needed a simple way to coordinate rosters and communicate changes. We extended their existing Daylite with custom categories and built a Google Calendar integration that publishes automatically to an iPad mounted at the home. Care staff see the current schedule without needing any Daylite training at all.

Simple, reliable, and the family manages it themselves
Case study · Business migration

Windows cleaning business moves to Mac and Daylite

A growing cleaning business was on Windows with spreadsheets and a generic booking system that couldn't scale. We migrated them to Mac, built a custom Daylite database for client management, job scheduling and workflow, and trained the team. Total investment — including new Macs — came in under the annual cost of the SaaS systems they'd been quoted.

Custom system, better fit, lower ongoing cost
CRMClients, contacts and companies — all linked to your emails, calls and meetings automatically.
Project ManagementTasks, milestones, team assignments. Everything linked to the right client or project.
Custom WorkflowsBuild the process that fits your business — not the other way around. We design it with you.
Calendar IntegrationDaylite calendars sync with Apple Calendar and Google Calendar. Rosters, appointments, schedules.
iPhone & iPadFull-featured mobile app. Add notes, update tasks, see client history — on site, on the road, anywhere.
IntegrationConnect Daylite to your website, Xero, email and more. Automate the admin, focus on the work.

Same team. One call.

The network that makes
Apple sing.

PureMac is one half of the story. Bowral WiFi is the other. As the same company, we handle everything from the Starlink dish on your roof to the HomePod in your living room. UniFi is — in many ways — the Apple of networking. Same philosophy: hardware and software designed together, one clean interface, everything working as it should. It's why Apple devices perform so much better on a properly configured UniFi network.

  • Starlink installation and bypass mode setup
  • UniFi whole-property WiFi — house, sheds, garages, granny flats
  • Network configured correctly for Apple Home, AirPlay and Bonjour
  • UniFi NAS for local Mac backup and team file storage
  • Security cameras and gate access
  • Farm and rural property coverage across the Southern Highlands

BowralWiFi

Starlink. UniFi. Security cameras. Whole-property WiFi for homes, farms and businesses across the Southern Highlands. The network foundation that everything else — especially your Apple devices — runs on.
